Tom's Reviews A Grayer Dawn is my introduction to this band, and what a way to do so. The album has a doomy flavor, but with more progressive tendencies, and those vocals are superbly executed; with a sound that at times reminds me of "Screaming Mad" Dee Calhoun. I definitely loved the guitar riffs, and the tone is fantastic on them as well. I recommend starting with Control Letting Go, those riffs and the songwriting are the best on the record. Favorite track: Control Letting Go.

Bucky Grayer Dawn casts down thundering riffage, carnivorous vocals and somber melody. The meticulously crafted songs scratch the trad-doom itch with a razor's edge of resounding progressive harmony.

The Snake 03:12
lyrics: Work your way from the angles Those blind spots where you live Take everything that want then 'til I've nothing left to give Cling to me with your claws dug in until I shed my skin Deep within my heart, babe is where you never should have been Now I've dropped off all my baggage a half a block ago Life moves in one direction don't you think that I don't know Here before you slithered in and still here when you're gone No misguided vixen is gonna keep me from movin' on
2.
lyrics: Venturing out to the unknown Without a path we forge our own Doesn't matter if the established believe This change will start with you and me Their world to us is long dead Before too long the word will spread When it's really on we may not know But when it's over history will show The few took the steps to lead all the rest of the rest And many had the heart to follow in their steps The unity to believe in them leaving their mark
3.
lyrics: Feeling now, there's no way through, or way back Progress made, was illusion.... it's all black There is no revealing of the ending you sought Brought on by necessity, now it was for not Don't let your confusion become your path Unfolding now is the rest of your past Control is letting go what you can't control Not what is meant to be just what you're meant to know
4.
lyrics: Direction known Standing where you'd set to be Direction lost Achieved and pined out from the cost So many wayward days and nights found you alone Isolated, blighted, withering down to the bone When you got to that bottom base, that very low Habitual despondent and it made you feel at home Finding your way through but who you were is long gone Can't fix your mistakes but the future is still long Direction found The world's restrained you are unbound

Distant 03:49
lyrics: Beyond your reach a stark distance appears The call of the dark surrounds the space around you Strive for the light a darkness all it's own Removed from the world to bridge the gap unknown Within yourself struggle for resolute Missteps behind no longer slowing you Finding your presence serves others too Fulfilling the void indisposed servitude
7.
lyrics: Leaving, always close to that first step Staying, never tip your hand to those who don't know Inside the fabric tears you're eager to repair Looking to satiate but nothing permeates Seeing, far away from where you stand Thinking, by this time, by this year you'd be gone A grayer dawn This cyclic world revolving never loses fuel Unyielding reeling just begets more blocked routes
